PRAYER REQUESTS FROM ERIC

June 29, 2004

• Pray for the 12 guys who live in Kibera slum - for some of them to get rid of the bad habits and for their conformity in Christ!
• Please pray for safety as I travel today and arrive on June 30th in Dallas/Fort Worth
• Pray for the continued work and impact of sports ministry and outreach here in the slums of Nairobi

June 17, 2004

• Pray for me as I've been sick and lost my voice this week. That I would get good rest and my voice back soon.
• Pray that the lives of the youth would be transformed by the Word of God as it's shared with them.
• Pray for those youth who will receive Bibles. That they would be eager and diligent to read and know what the Word of God has for their lives. Joshua 1:8
• Pray that God would give me an understanding and compassionate heart towards all of the youth that I am getting to meet and know from the different areas of the city I'm working in.
• Pray for the safety of Dedan and I as we travel around Nairobi and as we fellowship and play sports with the youth for the slums.
• Please continue to pray for my financial support and my desire to continue to serve God in this way each new day!

June 8, 2004

• Pray that God would give me an understanding and compassionate heart towards all of the youth
  that I am getting to meet and know from the different areas of the city I'm working in.
• Pray that the youth I am working with would see Jesus Christ living in me and desire to live that
  same type of life. That they would also get rid of the habits/things that can harm and destroy their lives
  that are so prevalent in the community in which they live.
• For God's wisdom and guidance in how Dedan and I can better minister to the physical needs, through
  the sports ministry, and spiritual needs of helping these youth to come to or grow in their relationship
  with Jesus Christ.
• Praise God for my continued good health and ability to get good rest at night. Continue to pray for my
  health and safety for the rest of the month. I'm doing great right now as far as my health and getting good rest!!
• Pray for Dedan and I as we continue to travel and meet with the youth throughout the week and weekend
  for great times of fellowship and coming together to hear God's Word.

May 26, 2004

• Praise God for allowing me to stay healthy and get better sleep at night for the last couple weeks.
• Thanks and Praise to God for the joy and excitement many youth leaders have had in being able to receive their own Bible to use in their youth ministries!!
• Pray for the continued work of the Youth Advocacy Program in the areas of training, resources, AIDS training/awareness and youth outreach/ministry opportunities.
• Please pray for God to raise up committed and Godly men and women who have a desire to minister to the needs of the large number of youth in Rwanda.
• Pray for my time and ministry work with Dedan in the Kibera slums of Nairobi among the youth and children.
• Pray for God's provision of a place for me to stay during my time in Nairobi for the month of June.
• Pray for my daily life - that it would reflect and model that of Jesus Christ. Philippians 2:5-11
  

May 13, 2004

• Continue to pray for the youth leader meetings that we will be leading this next week.
• Ask God to give us safety in our travels and to stay healthy and get the rest we need at night.
• Please pray for God to raise up committed and Godly men and women who have a desire to
  minister to the needs of the large number of youth in Rwanda.
• Pray as I seek out God's plan and direction for the continuing of ministry here in Africa
• Pray that my health would continue to improve and that I would sleep well at night. I have
  not been sleeping real well the last couple nights for some reason??
• Pray for my daily life - that it would reflect and model that of Jesus Christ. Philippians 2:5-11

• Pray for Esron and I as we will be having meetings with youth leaders around the country over the next couple weeks.
• Pray for our safety as we travel to and from the villages and cities that we will be having the meetings in.
• Continue to pray for my health that I would not get sick or malaria. I’m doing well right now, but I am very tired after the conference.
• Pray for the youth leaders and youth workers that we will be meeting with over the next couple weeks. Pray that they will see and respond to the great need here in Rwanda for Godly servant leaders that will minister the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Word of God to the large number of youth here in Rwanda.
• Pray for me in the area of communication and adapting to the culture here in Rwanda with my co-workers and in my daily life.
• Please pray that I would be a model and example of Jesus in my attitude and actions each day.

April 13, 2004

• Please pray for continued wisdom and guidance from God on the issues concerning communication and serving with the ALARM staff here in the office I’m in.
• Pray that God would give me the wisdom and the time to be able to complete my lessons and devotions in preparation for the youth pastors conference next week in Kericho, Kenya.
• Pray that I would get the rest I need to be able to feel stronger and not feel tired.
• Kericho Youth Pastors conference – for safety in travelling for all those attending, the teaching/lesson times, for good health, and for God’s message and purpose for training and equipping of the youth pastors that will be attending.
• Pray for Esron and I as we continue to develop and plan for what we will be doing during the month of May for the Youth Advocacy Program. We will be doing a lot of travelling and meeting with youth leaders here in Rwanda.

• Please pray for my continued good health and strength!
• Pray for Esron and I as we seek out God’s will for the youth program
• Pray for the provision of funds for the youth program
• Pray for me as I make preparations for the Kenya Youth Pastors Training Conference
• Pray for the team with Spoken For that will be traveling to teach at the Kericho, Kenya Youth Pastors Training Conference on April 16th to the 24th.

March 10, 2004

• Pray for my health as I'm feeling a little sick today! not sure if it's something I ate or what?
• Pray for the meetings that I will be having with Andre, Alevera and Esron (the youth director) as we begin to sit down and discuss what God is currently doing here in Rwanda and the possible ministry opportunities in the future relating to Spoken For outreach and special projects and the work of training youth leaders and pastors.
• I would appreciate prayer for my involvement in the Mid-April youth pastors conference that will be taking place in Kericho, Kenya with Scott Werntz and his team of leaders as we train 600 youth pastors and leaders there.
• Pray that a possible housing opportunity might develop in the next week or two that would be beneficial to me in my daily living situation - not sure what specifics or how this looks as I am just now seeking this out.
• I am trying to learn some basic phrases to communicate in French and Kenyarwanda language to be able to better go about daily living! Pray that I would learn quickly and be effective.
